The Codebreaker

Founder & Lead Composer Statement

I spent 22 years in uniform—first in the United States Air Force, and then 18 years on the front lines with law enforcement as a Police Medic and Police Instructor. For over two decades, I walked the line, answered the calls that most people only hear about on the evening news, and trained others to survive the worst. And for the last 14 years, I’ve carried the aftermath.

When you spend that much of your life in that world, you accumulate a heavy archive of moments: the quiet radio static before the panic breaks, the unreturned goodbyes, the medical trauma, and the names of brothers and sisters who took their final walk down the Highway of Heroes. For years, those memories sat trapped inside me. They were truths too heavy, too raw, and too complex to explain in ordinary conversation to anyone who hadn't stood in those boots.

Music has always been my language. Where spoken words fail to explain PTSD, military suicide, 9/11, or the devastating silence left behind when an officer falls, the instruments speak with absolute clarity. A crying solo violin, the disciplined weight of a cello, the shimmering ring of a 12-string, or the unified voice of a choir—these aren't just musical choices to me. They are the emotional architecture of grief, honor, discipline, and community.

Every track I write is personal. Nothing is created for entertainment or commercial polish. I don't care about making a dime. My sole mission is to take what was trapped inside of me for decades and build a bridge—a codebreaker—so that others can finally understand the weight we carried.

Using modern tools alongside my own composition allows me to translate the exact sounds, tempos, and arrangements in my mind into a living sanctuary for those who need it. It is my way of giving a voice to those who can no longer speak, standing post for the families left in the cold, and offering a place of understanding for anyone sitting alone at 2 AM trying to make sense of their own noise.

"This music is my legacy, my thank you, and my final salute. Rest easy. We got it from here."
Dedicated Honor & Memorial Space

Highway of Heroes

A solemn tribute to every officer, responder, and service member who laid down their life in the line of duty.

The Origin & Purpose

For years, whenever a fellow officer took their final walk, I wrote these words as a salute to their sacrifice and their family. When an officer passed away on a call right here two days ago, those solemn words became the beating heart and chorus of this song.

This track wasn't rushed, nor was it built for speed. It was created to fuse the profound reverence of a ballad with the uplifting sanctuary of euphoric orchestration—giving grieving families, friends, and fellow officers a sanctuary where their heartbreak can breathe.

Composed with 12-string guitar, solo violin, cello, full orchestra, and church choir.

"Another brother taking the walk down the Highway of Heroes. His walk is lined with all the Heroes that came before him. Each with a tear in their eye and a much deserved salute of respect for every family member and friend they left behind. Rest easy my brother. The angels will watch over all those you loved. Your watch is over. We got it from here. Rest in Glory!"

— The Chorus Salute

The Musical Architecture & Emotional Arc

How the instrumentation directly translates the psychological journey from initial shock to public honor and private grief.

The Opening Movement (The Arc of Loss)

  • • Solo Violin (The Family): Opens exposed and crying alone, setting the raw personal core before the rest of the world even knows what happened.
  • • Cellos (The Coworkers): A low, heavy, resonant wall keeping a steady swell underneath—showing the discipline of holding it together publicly while carrying crushing weight inside.
  • • 12-String Guitar & Angels (Heaven/Hope): Enters as a gentle, shimmering presence offering sanctuary while the shock is fresh.
  • • Full Church Choir (The Community): The massive, unified wave of support standing shoulder-to-shoulder on the roadside, lifting up "Rest in Glory!"

The Reverse Movement (After the Funeral)

  • • Choir Fades Out: The crowds go home, the news cycle moves on, and the public quiet returns.
  • • Angels Settle In: Quietly stepping into the background to keep watch over loved ones during dark, silent nights.
  • • Violin & Cello Together (Private Grief): Off-camera behind closed doors, where coworkers and family can finally drop the wall and grieve as one.
  • • Lone Violin Echoing Out: The final lingering note. Life moves forward, but that quiet ache stays forever woven into who they are.
